It is Noon in the wonderful world of Moe.
I am simply typing this for lack of anything else to do. Well, I could scrub the toilet, but that seems to be too much like work for me right now, so, here I am.
I have decided that a word I would like to use more frequently is lackadaisical.
I am making a lackadaisical attempt at a blog entry.
My children made a lackadaisical attempt at cleaning their rooms.
That reminds me of the word transparent. (not sure why - my brain does not function in predictable patterns). A transparent lie. I got a big ohh, and ahhh from the teacher in grade 5 when I used that sentence in a story I wrote for something or other.
Funny, all the stupid little things you can remember - yet so many of the bigger and important things get lost in the corners of your mind? Hmm. Let's see how many stupid things I remember:
1) my air miles number.
2) my bank card number.
3) the story that made reference to a transparent lie.
4) cracking Wendy's big toe while floating around in the pool. (don't ask)
5) calling Janice "spaghetti and albino" over and over until she cried.
6) getting sent to the end of the line after recess in grade 2 because when a teacher was
trying to get past me she said "excuse me" and I replied "what'd ya do - fart?"
7) Michael Smith charging at me like a bull when we were in grade 2. He knocked me over and I
spent 4 or 5 days in the hospital with head injuries.
8) The hot hot hot sand on a beach in Florida. My Dad had to carry me.
9) The little muscles in the sand at that very same beach. I was captivated by them for hours!
10) Singing "tip toe through the tulips" most of the car ride to Florida (and my Dad screaming
"SHUT UP!")
11) The orange trees in Florida.
12) The Shell Factory - watching them take pearls out of the oysters. So cool!
13) Rollerskating in the basement before my parents did the renovations
14) Installing the in ground pool in the back yard
15) Tina Stein letting her dog Cher lick her tootsie pop and then putting it back in her mouth.
16) Xanadu
17) The wallpaper in Rachel's basement - silver with a black velvet pattern
18) The first time I had green poop. I was so scared. Turned out to be from purple Freshie.
19) My first cigarette.
20) Running out of cigs while drunk so my friends and I wrapped tea leaves in a piece of
newspaper... I laughed for a good ten minutes because Laura tried it first and got tea leaves
all over her teeth! (hey - I was drunk - it was funny!)
21) Wendy letting me drive her car for the first time (I was not licenced!)
22) Bob teaching me to drive stick in his pick up at the Mapleview Mall.
23) Deb dropping her photo box while showing us how she spent several hours putting them in
order.
24) Deb kicking me out of her house for laughing when she dropped the photo box
25) Lisa wiping out while doing the hokey pokey - she put her left foot in, and set it down on a
magazine which caused her foot to slide out from under her, knocking her on her ass.
26) Lisa kicking me out of her house for laughing at her for wiping out while doing the hokey
pokey.
27) Lisa giving the kids the sour freezies and Jade asking if she could have one that wasn't
poisoned.
28) Sunday breakfasts at Russell Williams - there were so many of us...
29) the ice rink my Mom made in the backyard for us.
30) Bill Hill's store in Bronte
31) Spending so many hours in the lake when we lived in Bronte
32) Camping at Valens
33) My uncle taking us to the beach in my Dad's car. He couldn't drive a standard, so the car
was bucking and resisting the whole way. Phil thought he was the best driver EVER because
he could do pop-a-wheelies!
34) Licence plate numbers of customers at the service centre I worked at 17 years ago.
35) Our phone number in Bronte (we moved from there when I was 5)
Alright - enough of this. The list is so long. Now, ask me my postal code. Alright - I'm not that bad, but it's pretty close to that!
I was up until the wee hours of the morning working on a fondant bow for the piano cake I have to make. Went to bed at 4:30 this morning. I'm not sure that it's going to work either - that's why I had to get it done last night (or this morning) so if it fails, I have enough time to make a second one as the cake is needed for Wednesday. Cake layers have been baked and wrapped tightly and in the freezer.
My oven sucks. Bought it brand new and the temperature is WAY off. To bake at 350°F I have to set it for 375°F. For 400°F I have to set it for 430°F. Does that make sense? Baffles the Hell out of me!
Well, on that sour note, I am going to get off here for a while. I think I'll go clean the washroom so I don't feel so bad for doing the square root of nothing for the last half of my work day.
Ho hum. Life on the edge. Lots of mindless babble and clean toilets. Sounds like the highlights of very special day - don't-cha think?
TTFN!
